Day 1/2

Day 1 • Depart North America for Kunming, China

Day 2 • Arrive in Kunming

Upon arrival at Kunming International Airport, you will be greeted by a Super Value Tour representative who will assist you to take a shuttle to your hotel, where you will be grouped together for dinner.(Dinner)

Day 3

Day 3 • Kunming

Begin your sightseeing at the Jiuxiang Scenic District and visit the impressive caves, waterfalls, forests, and lakes. After lunch, you will travel to the Stone Forest of Yunnan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, natural karst formations appear to emerge directly from the ground, creating the impression of standing in a forest made of stone. This unique feature of the Karst Stone forest contributes to its affiliation with UNESCO. (3 meals)

Jiuxiang Scenic District
The largest scenic spot in China sized at 20 sq km and includes 5 tourist attractions.
  • Diehong Bridge, famous for the Karst caves, twin water falls and the huge natural stone dam cluster.
  • Dasha Dam consists of picturesque karst caves and thick forest.
  • Sanjiao Cave, another famous karst cave.
  • Alu Long, famous for the excavated Yi Nationality cliff paintings of Qin (221BC-206BC) and Han (206BC-220AD) dynasties.
  • Mingyue (meaning the bright moon) Lake.
Stone Forest
One of the most important attractions in Yuannan. Most say that “If you have visited Kunming without seeing the stone forest your trip was not worthwhile”. The scenic areas are divided into eight different areas, Large & Small Stone Forests, Naigu Stone Forests, Large & Small Zhiyun Caves, Qingfeng Cave, Long Lake, Moon Lake, Fairy Lake, Feilong Falls.

Day 4

Day 4 • Kunming • Dali

After a short morning flight to Dali, check in upon to your hotel, where you may rest up for today’s activities. Today’s tour in Dali begins with a trip to the thousand-year-old Chongsheng Temple and Three Pagodas, once the royal temple of the Kingdom of Dali. Following a visit to the ancient City of Dali, hometown of the indigenous Bai and Yi Minorities, dine on a specially-arranged macrobiotic dinner prepared from locally-grown produce. To end the night, Super Value Tours includes a 60-minute Flower and Herb spa session at the hotel, ensuring ultimate relaxation after a full day’s activities. (3 meals)

Ancient Dali City
Located between Cangshan mountain to the west and Er Hai to the east. It has been settled by the traditional Bai and Yi minorities. It is also the capital of the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. The city features stone walls, grey-tiled roofs, doors, and windows carved with dragon and phoenix motifs, resonating the bucolic and quaint countryside of Southern China.
Chongsheng Temple and Three Pagodas
Located north of Dali city, it is at the east foot of the tenth peak of the massive Cangshan Mountains and faces the west shore of the Erhai Lake of the ancient Dali town.
Herbal Spa and Massage
Is a 60 minutes of pampering provided by Super Value Tours at the hotel. The mineral water used at the SPA is irrigated from the snow at 4000 meters from Cangshan (Mt. Cang) on the backdrop of the hotel. This place was considered the “Beauty SPA”, the water immersed with flowers and herbs that can improve your skin and metabolism. All therapists are licensed with national certificates in massage therapy and acupressure.

Day 5

Day 5 •Dali • Lijiang

Today we depart from Dali and travel to Lijiang. We begin with a visit to the Black Dragon Pool, also known as the Jade Spring Dragon Pool. We head south to Lijiang and first rest at the hotel before venturing into the Old Town of Shuhe, a small village hidden in the foothills of Yu Long Xue Shan, or Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Shuhe is a small town along the Ancient Tea Route (The Southern Silk Road), well-preserved with the strong culture of its primitive simplicity. The tranquility of Shuhe is refreshing, especially after your encounter with the exciting yet fast-paced bustle of city life. After riding in our exclusive Horse Carriage, you explore the Old Town of Shuhe freely at your own leisure. After dinner, relax with a stroll through Old town Dayang to catch the night view of Lijiang. (3 meals)

Shuhe Old Town
It covers 65,000 square meters, with a building area of 60,000 square meters. The newly built modern building recreates Tang-dynasty architecture and successfully symbolizes the great extent of Shaanxi history and its remarkable culture.
Black Dragon Pool (Yuquan Park)
The jade spring to the north of Lijiang, its name derived from the waters which sparkle like jade and as clear as spring water. The entire park is green from the rich grass and shaded by swaying willow trees. Under the Shuocui Bridge, a waterfall creates a constant roar as it cascades downstream. At the far side of the pool, there are renovated buildings used for art exhibitions, the Moon-Embracing Pavilion with its own white marble bridge across the water, and the Five-Phoenix Temple built during the Ming Dynasty.
Yu Long Snow Mountain (Jade Dragon Snow Mountain)
Stretches a length of 22 miles and a width of 13 miles, looking from Lijiang Old Town in the south, the snow- covered and fog-enlaced mountain resembles a jade dragon laying in the clouds, hence, the name Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

Day 6

Day 6 • Lijiang

Today begins with a visit to Yu Shui Zhai, located at the foot of Yu Long Snow Mountain. You will enjoy a cultural music show “Impression-Lijiang”, directed by Zhang-Yimou and performed with the actual Yu Long Snow Mountain as the stage. We then explore Yun Shan Ping in Yu Long Snow Mountain, where you may choose from the following three routing options: A. Complete tour of Yun Shan Ping (1HR), B. Photo sight walking tour (1/2 HR), C. Leisure walking tour on your own. Then we will continue to Blue Moon Valley, astoundingly comprised of 4 different lakes, each divided by waterfall. (3 meals)

Lijiang
Situated un the northwestern part of Yunnan Province and the upper reaches of the Jinshajiang (Golden Sand) River. Lijiang is a region where the Naxi people live in compact communities consisting of the naxi, Han, Bai, Tibetan, Pumi, Lisu, Yi and other ethnic tribes. The landscape in LiJiang is magnificent, and to some considered a fairy land beneath the colorful clouds of southern China.
Old town of Lijiang & Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
They are two of the most mesmerizing sights of Lijiang. This town served as the political and economic center for the southern route of the Silk Road and the most important route for tea and house trading. It’s also the best preserved ancient town in china filled with colorful and indigenous grace. The stone and pebble waling path along with crystal clear waterways. The twists and turns of the Naxi alleyways are lined with waterway grass and ancient architecture. It’s listed as the World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
Impression-Lijiang
A show directed by director Zhang, Jimou. It is a large musical show with the Yu Long Snow Mountain ( Jade Dragon Snow Mountain) as its background, illustrating the relations between minorities in Lijiang.

Day 7

Day 7 •Lijiang • Kunming

Have a fresh start with our morning tour at the enchanting Old Town of Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Travel around this 800 year old cultural and commercial center of the Naxi minority that served as an important junction of the famous Southern Silk Road, also known as the Ancient Tea Route. Super Value Tours takes you on an early morning tour to present to you the predawn ambiance of ancient Lijiang. There are 3 different choices available: A. Morning tour of Lijiang – Mufu – Wan Gu Lou – Free time in Lijiang; B. Morning tour of Lijiang – Mufu – Wan Gu Lou – Hotel; C. You will have free time to explore the Old Town of Lijiang. We fly to Kunming in the afternoon with free time to spend in the city. (3 meals)

Mufu
The administration center and living quarter of the Mu clan (a provincial governor) during Yuan dynasty from 1263-1723. It was the political venter of Old Town of Lijiang and preserved the distinct Lijiang culture and demonstrated the power of the Mu clan that governed Lijiang for over 460 years.
Wangu Lou (Aeon Tower)
Standing at the highest point in Lijiang, this 108 ft pavilion is accessible from either the old town or from Minzu Lu on the west side of the hill. A recently built, four story edifice with huge wooden pillars, it offers superb views overlooking the old town.

Day 8

Day 8 • Kunming

At the Yunnan Cultural Village, we explore the traditions and cultures of the Bai, Tibetan, Naxi minorities of south China. Following lunch, we visit Lake Dian where you can enjoy a ride along the cable ropeway to see the Xishan Dragon Cave. Here, you can also choose from 3 included choices: A. Cable car uphill and electric cart downhill. B. Cable care uphill & downhill & tea-tasting at the teahouse. C. Tea-tasting at teahouse. In the evening, you can choose to attend an optional performance of the incredibly innovative Dynamic Yunnan show choreographed by Yang Li Ping (Highly recommended!).(3 meals)

Yunnan Cultural Village
Located north shore of Lake Dian. It is an ethnic village of over 25 minorities. The village displays a variety of buildings, lifestyles, religious beliefs of the different regions and the aspects of different minorities.
Xishan Dragon Cave
It covers 65,000 square meters, with a building area of 60,000 square meters. The newly built modern building recreates Tang-dynasty architecture and successfully symbolizes the great extent of Shaanxi history and its remarkable culture.
Dynamic Yunnan Show
A large scale song and dance performance directed and heads cast by a young and famous dancer, Young Li Ping. It is a show that featuring the remarkable and diverse local cultures.

Day 9

Day 9 • Hotel • Departure

As you bid farewell to Kunming, you will be escorted to the airport for your next destination by a Super Value representative. Zai-jian (See you again)! (Breakfast)
